It is said that Steeler head coach Bill Cowher came up with the nickname slash. Referring to Kordell's roles as quarterback/running back/wide receiver. Starting in 1995 and thru 1996, slash became the most exciting offensive player in the NFL. His versitility as being able to line up as qb, rb, or wr was a defensive coordinator's worst nightmare.

A scrambling 2 yard TD pass to Ernie Mills vs Browns on 11/13/95.. Slash's first NFL pass.
A perfect quarterback sneek vs Colts on 12/29/96 in the 1996 AFC Playoffs.
80 yard TD run at Panthers on 12/22./96.
A 74 yard TD run vs Ravens in last Steeler game at Memorial Stadium on 10/5/97. Not slash year but I just had to include this play!
RUNNING BACK:
22 yard TD run vs Bills on 12/16/95.
WIDE RECEIVER:
71 yard TD reception vs Bengals on 11/19/95.
42 yard TD reception vs 49er's on 12/15/96.
Also a one time PUNTER:
41 yard punt vs Bills on 1/6/96 in 1995 AFC playoffs.
