PITTSBURGH TRIP UPDATE
If you haven’t heard by now, game tickets for the Steelers vs. Jets game on December 12th are SOLD OUT. Tailgate Party passes are still available and can be pre-purchased for $20.00 a person or $25.00 per person the day of the game. To pre-order, simply go to
Arrangements at this year’s home base, The Hilton Hotel, are in the final stages. All bartenders have been told to expect to work overtime to accommodate the throngs of PSFCOBers that will begin to converge on that site beginning Friday, December 10th. The Saturday Night Party is all set and will feature live entertainment compliments of Charlie Godart, a local TV personality and fast rising star. For those of you who caught his act down at The Purple Goose Saloon on Opening Day 2003, his special brand of humor has to be seen to be believed.
Both the Terrible Grill and Terrible Bar have begun to undergo their annual facelifts to prepare for this yearly extravaganza. While the crowds seem to get bigger and better every year, these old stalwarts continue to perform and satisfy as only they can.
The only downside of this year’s trip is that there were many people who waited until the last minute to order their game tickets and were left out when the tickets ran out. As we all know, Steelers game tickets are like Gold (or should I say Black ‘n Gold) these days and prices are at a premium. Upper level end zone seats that the PSFCOB secured for $90.00 a ticket are presently going for anywhere from $200.00 - $225.00 a seat. If you plan on making the trip with the hopes of buying a ticket on game day, bring a full wallet as well as a keen eye because counterfeit tickets will likely abound.
Confirmation letters for those who ordered game tickets, Tailgate Party passes, hotel rooms or a combination of the three will be mailed shortly after Thanksgiving. This mailing will include a map of where the Tailgate Party will be held (for those who haven’t attended in the past) as well as other helpful information that will hopefully answer any questions anyone may have.
Let’s continue the tradition we started years ago and make the PSFCOB a force to be reckoned with when the Jets come to town.
